Welcome to the official website of Farid Sedrak Jewelry. By accessing this website and purchasing our signature stone-infused gold pieces, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
1. Introduction & Heritage
Farid Sedrak Jewelry, established in 1920 and currently led by the third generation of the Sedrak family, provides artisanal jewellery services. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers of our Cairo-based operations.
2. Pricing & Gold Market Fluctuations
Daily Rates: Due to the nature of the gold market in Egypt, prices for our pieces are subject to change without prior notice based on international and local market fluctuations.
Final Price: The price of an item is only “locked in” once a formal order confirmation or invoice has been issued by Farid Sedrak Jewelry.
Errors: We reserve the right to cancel orders arising from clear typographical errors in pricing.
3. Product Authenticity & Hallmarking
Official Hallmarks:
All gold pieces sold by Farid Sedrak Jewelry are officially hallmarked by the Egyptian Weights and Measures Department (Maṣlaḥat al-Damgh wa-al-Mawāzīn) according to their purity (e.g., 18k or 21k).
Natural Stones:
Our signature “stone-infused gold” uses natural gemstones. Customers acknowledge that natural stones may feature slight variations in color or internal characteristics, making each piece unique.
4. Orders & Payments
Payment Methods:
We accept major credit/debit cards via secure Egyptian payment gateways, as well as bank transfers.
Order Acceptance:
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for reasons including stock unavailability or suspected fraudulent activity.
5. Shipping & Secure Delivery (Egypt)
Coverage:
We provide secure, insured shipping across Cairo and all Egyptian governorates.
Inspection: Upon delivery by our specialized courier, the customer is encouraged to inspect the security seal of the package.
Transfer of Risk:
Responsibility for the jewellery passes to the customer upon signing the delivery receipt.
6. Buy-Back & Trade-In Policy
Original Receipt Requirement:
To maintain our legacy of trust and security, the original sales receipt must be presented when selling items back to us or trading them in. We cannot process any transaction without the original invoice issued by Farid Sedrak Jewelry.
Valuation:
Buy-back values are calculated based on the daily gold rate in Egypt at the time of the transaction, excluding labor costs (Masna’iya) and taxes.
7. Warranty & Maintenance
The warranty applies from the date the customer receives the goods for the first time.
Scope:
We guarantee all our 18K or 21K gold with diamonds, precious, semi-precious stones, or zircon.
One-Year Maintenance:
This is a one-year warranty certificate for maintenance only. It does not cover misuse, accidental damage, or extraordinary wear.
Exclusions:
The warranty does not cover the loss or theft of the jewelry in part or in its entirety, nor does it cover re-sizing services.
Inspection:
If a defect is discovered, the jewelry must be returned to our Cairo store for inspection. Farid Sedrak Jewelry alone will determine if the defect is due to normal wear or manufacturing error.
Unauthorized Alterations:
Any jewelry re-sized or altered by a 3rd party not under the ownership or explicit authorization of Farid Sedrak Jewelry will immediately forfeit the warranty.
Repairs:
If damage is outside the bounds of the warranty, the customer is liable for repair costs. We will report all necessary repairs and costs to the customer prior to implementation.
8. Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations
In accordance with Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018:
14-Day Rule:
Customers have the right to return or exchange non-defective items within 14 days, provided the item is in its original, unworn condition with all tags and certificates attached.
Exceptions:
Under Article 17, returns are not accepted for:
- Custom-made, resized, or specially engraved pieces.
- Earrings (due to health and hygiene regulations).
Refunds:
Refunds for gold items may be calculated based on the gold price at the time of the return, excluding labor costs (Masna’iya), unless the item is found to have a manufacturing defect.
9. Intellectual Property
The “Farid Sedrak” name, logo, and all original “stone-infused gold” designs are the intellectual property of the Sedrak family. Any unauthorized reproduction of our designs or website content is strictly prohibited under Egyptian Intellectual Property laws.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Egypt. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cairo.
